How Asfunn tests vacuums

Last updated: September 2026

We purchase most units at retail. Manufacturers do not pay for placement on our lists. The Asfunn Lab Score blends measured performance with price and owner-feedback signals where sample sizes are large enough.

Robot vacuums

• Carpet deep clean (embedded sand, timed run, weighed pickup)
• Hard-floor and crevice debris passes
• Pet hair flattening test and 7-inch hair tangle on brush rolls
• Mop panel with dried stains plus water-left-behind penalty
• Obstacle course (24 common household objects)
• Navigation time, battery use, and estimated area per charge

Cordless vacuums

• Unsealed suction at the floorhead
• Carpet and hard-floor pickup passes
• Handle weight, noise, and runtime on medium power
• Filtration path and included attachments
